This developed into an attraction for everything visually artistic. After high school, I focused on corporate communication for a while, but in 2017 I got back into the visual game. I quit a cozy and safe corporate job to venture into the often confusing and unstable world of freelancing. Now, years of design study and practice later, I feel that I've found my place, one that gives me energy and keeps me going. It wasn't hard to tell, once I started looking forward to Monday mornings.
*Currently Visual Design Expert at FoxEducation Austria / Sdui Group Germany.
I'm a visual designer with a background in communication, born in Timisoara, Romania. Three other countries hold a special place for me — Denmark, Germany and Austria, places where I studied, lived and worked in. Like most kids, I was creative from an early age, so I attended painting and drawing clubs, which were my first contact with visual arts.
While studying design in the early days, I was drawn to Bauhaus and the Swiss Style. I believe in the basic principle of these two design schools (form follows function) and I embrace simplicity and effectiveness, striving for a clean final design with the user and goal in the center. I studied the principles of d.school's Design Thinking and IDEO's approach of Human-Centered Design (HCD) and I always keep them in mind while working. I often find inspiration in cinematography, photography, architecture, and music. The work of great designers is another source of inspiration and influence, be it established names like Milton Glaser, Michael Bierut, Paula Scher, Ivan Chermayeff, Paul Rand, and Sagi Haviv or young, talented newcomers.
My workflow depends a lot on the type of project I work on, but it usually consists of the following non-linear process:
-
The Hearing phase (empathize & define) — focus on research and understanding the needs of the user & client
-
The Creation phase (ideate & prototype) — the acquired info takes initial visual shape under various iterations
-
The Delivery phase (test & integrate) — translating the prototypes/sketches into final polished materials and adapting according to feedback

We worked together for little over a year, on a few highly challenging projects that perfectly illustrated Valentin's strong work ethic, perseverance and talent backed by research and thoughtfulness. Candid in sharing and receiving feedback, Valentin always paid attention to details of extreme importance in a service-based business—being on time, thorough and receptive.

We had a good collaboration with Valentin in creating all the visuals related to our product Tassis (site, app, social media). We were very impressed by his knowledge, his suggestions & proposal and definitely by the materials he delivered.
