I'm a visual designer originally from Timisoara, Romania. I studied, lived and worked in Denmark, Belgium, Germany and Austria. Like most kids, I was creative from an early age, so I attended painting and drawing clubs, which were my first contact with the visual arts. This developed into an attraction for everything visually artistic.
After earning degrees in Communication (BA & MA), I took on a practical role in software support, where I first observed users and their needs while interacting with technology. In 2017, I fully shifted to visual communication, and I started solving problems in new ways and with a new set of tools. Since then, I have been working with small clients and within mature organisations on product design, web solutions, branding & identity, motion design, and more recently people & design project management.
Workflow
While studying design in the early days, I was drawn to Bauhaus and the Swiss Style. I believe in the basic principle of these two design schools (form follows function) and I embrace simplicity and effectiveness, striving for a clean final design with the user and goal in the center. I studied the principles of d.school's Design Thinking and IDEO's approach of Human-Centered Design (HCD) and I always keep them in mind while working. I often find inspiration in cinematography, photography, architecture, and music. The work of great designers is another source of inspiration and influence, be it established names like Milton Glaser, Michael Bierut, Paula Scher, Ivan Chermayeff, Paul Rand, and Sagi Haviv or young, talented newcomers.
My workflow depends a lot on the type of project I work on, but it usually consists of the following non-linear process:

The Hearing phase (empathize & define) — focus on research and understanding the needs of the business & users

The Creation phase (ideate & prototype) — the acquired info takes initial visual shape under various iterations

The Delivery phase (test & integrate) — translating the initial designs into final polished & usable materials, plus adapting according to feedback and needs
